When you're in or near (up to 70-100 metres away) a BT Openzone hotspot with your wireless-enabled laptop or PDA, simply:

* If you don't log off, but just simply close your browser, your account will stay open for a further 15 minutes before shutting down due to inactivity – timing out incurs charges.
Important: if you're using Windows XP (SP2) and view wireless connection status, you'll see BT Openzone described as an 'Unsecured wireless network' or similar. Windows XP (SP2) describes most public access wireless networks in this way. Please ignore this. BT Openzone uses sophisticated 128-bit public key encryption during log-in to protect transfer of your data. Account traffic is encrypted and your account is password protected.
If you're at a hotspot site and have an active
BT Openzone session, log in to 'My profile' to check the total amount of time you've spent online to date. To see how long you've been using BT Openzone during the current session, refer to the 'My service status' section of the screen that confirms you've logged into
BT Openzone.
You're also able to access 'My profile' without first having to log in to BT Openzone. Simply look for the 'My profile' link from the hotspot site home page.
Alternatively, if you're not anywhere near a hotspot site but have access to the web through a public internet connection, you can still reach 'My profile' at https://www.btopenzone.com:8443/htmlui_en/index.html.
