From 4th June 2008, you’ll no longer be able to use your BT Openzone voucher or account on The Cloud Wi-Fi network. However, there are still lots of convenient BT Openzone hotspots to choose from.
We've decided not to renew our partnership because BT Openzone customer usage at UK hotspots managed by The Cloud is low.
From 00:01 on 4th June 2008, unless ahead of time, we advise otherwise on our web site.
From 4th June 2008, if you have a BT Openzone voucher or subscription (including a BT Datazone or BT Office Anywhere subscription), you won't be able to use your minutes on The Cloud Wi-Fi network. The log-in page you normally see at The Cloud hotspots will no longer give you the option to choose BT Openzone. Also, the option to use software clients for seamless roaming on The Cloud Wi-Fi network will be removed.
If you’re a BT Fusion, BT Broadband Anywhere or BT Office Anywhere customer, from 4th June 2008, your Wi-Fi device will no longer connect you to The Cloud Wi-Fi network so you can make cheaper voice calls. You’ll still be able to benefit from lower rates by connecting to BT Openzone though
We're constantly making more hotspots available to you. Recently, we've announced new BT Openzone hotspots at Caffè Nero coffee shops, Heathrow Terminal 5, Brend Hotels and Shepherd Neame pubs. This is in addition to more than 2,500 BT Openzone hotspots throughout the UK and Ireland, 12 UK wireless cities giving you outdoor coverage, and BT FON hotspots nationwide. BT Business Total Broadband hotspots will also be added later this quarter as our business customers opt in to the Wi-Fi community.
There are no changes to our roaming agreements with other UK and international Wi-Fi network operators.
We want you to be inconvenienced as little as possible. You can refer to our many hotspot search tools to find a BT Openzone, BT or other roaming partner hotspot in your preferred area.
BT Openzone Help Desk advisors will be happy to suggest suitable alternatives. You can contact them 9:00am - 5:30pm (UK time) weekdays, on 0870 240 5745*.
No. By giving you 30 days’ advanced notice, we’re being very transparent about the end of our partnership with The Cloud and believe that the new hotspots being made available to you offset the loss.
Note that BT Openzone coverage and roaming partner agreements are always subject to change.
