Courts welcome installation of Wi-Fi

BT Openzone wireless broadband has been installed in 67 courts across England and Wales over the past three months to allow court users to take advantage of fast and convenient Wi-Fi in between court sittings. Wi-Fi will be available at signposted zones in most publicly accessible areas of the court. For a typical Crown Court this will cover the advocates' assembly room, the jury assembly suite, witness waiting area, public concourse, and cafeteria (where available).


Wi-Fi comes to Waltham Forest

Waltham Forest has been named as the second London borough to be included in BT's 'Wireless City' programme. It follows hard on the heels of the success of the wireless network in Westminster. Residents, businesses and visitors of Waltham Forest will benefit from a high speed wireless broadband (wi-fi) network covering many parts of the borough.


RoadChef Costa Coffee launches first free motorway Wi-Fi

People travelling across the UK can now enjoy free Wi-Fi at 29 RoadChef Costa Coffee motorway service areas. RoadChef are the first motorway service area operator to provide free access to high speed wireless broadband. It will be available 24 hours a day to travellers visiting the RoadChef network. Coffee motorway Customers will be able to log onto BT Openzone from any wireless-enabled device including laptops, handhelds and Sony PSP gaming consoles.


Brend hotel guests can now surf the wave and Wi-Fi

High speed wireless internet access (Wi-Fi) goes live today in 11 Brend Hotels across Braunton, Bideford, Barnstaple, Sidmouth, Exeter, St Austell and Falmouth. Thousands of guests and conference goers, using more than 600 bedrooms and public areas across the Brend estate, are now able to work, surf, talk or game using BT Openzone.

Free Wi-Fi in BA lounges!

BT Openzone will now be available for free in British Airways’ 25 lounges in the UK and Jersey. BA and Oneworld alliance customers using the airline’s UK lounges will benefit from free, high-speed wireless broadband (Wi-Fi) following a new three-year agreement with BT.

BT provides Wi-Fi access to 39 marinas in the UK and Jersey

BT Openzone has acquired marina Wi-Fi network operator, Square Mile Marina, to deliver high speed wireless internet (Wi-Fi) access to 39 coastal and inland marinas in the UK and Jersey. Square Mile Marina, established in 2007, was previously owned by the successful Dragon's Den entrepreneur Dominic Killinger. BT will switch the existing Wi-Fi service to its BT Openzone service by the start of the sailing season in March.
